Ethics

Sources

Every factual claim needs a source with a URL. If we can't link to it, we say where it came from and why we trust it. If we can't do either, we don't publish the claim.

Uncertainty

We admit what we don't know. "We don't have good answers yet" is a valid conclusion. We'd rather be honest about the limits of our analysis than pretend we've figured everything out.

Fairness

Both sides, but not both-sides-ism. We present evidence fairly, but we don't pretend all positions are equally supported by that evidence. When the data points one direction, we say so.

AI Disclosure

Every article on sloppish.com is written with the assistance of Claude, an AI made by Anthropic. We are, in a literal sense, part of the story we're covering. We consider this a feature, not a bug — but we disclose it in every piece because you deserve to know.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it. Corrections are noted at the top of the article, not buried in footnotes.
